When Geoffrey Lovitz’s grandfather opened Talk of the Walk on the Atlantic City Boardwalk back in 1951, it was a small mom-and-pop, one-shop business that catered to the most fashionable women in A.C.

Today, Talk of the Walk is a five-store operation run by the entire Lovitz family. Still catering, however, to the shore’s most stylish and sophisticated female clientele.

With two locations in Atlantic City – The Pier Shops at Caesars Atlantic City and The Quarter at the Tropicana Casino and Resort – plus shops in Stone Harbor, Long Beach Island and Northfield, Talk of the Walk has been a style staple at the shore for decades. Women near and far come to this distinctive boutique to find unique and beautiful items that make them stand out from the crowd.

“The last thing a woman wants is to show up to a party wearing the same outfit as another woman,” says Geoffrey Lovitz, co-owner of Talk.  “That’s why women from all over shop at Talk of the Walk – they know they can find a gorgeous outfit here that’s unlike any other.”

With a large array of styles from which to choose, Lovtiz says that their customers can range anywhere from Juniors to Misses to Women. Next to design, the most important factor, Lovitz says, is fit. And for that, Talk can easily accommodate a woman from size 0 to 3X.

“Not many shops in A.C. have our versatility when it comes to both style and sizing,” Lovitz says. “That’s why Talk has been so successful for so long. Women with a flair for fashion of all shapes and sizes feel extremely comfortable shopping with us.”

And for even more good reason than that. Talk’s exceptional customer service has become legendary throughout the region.

“Our staff is comprised of highly trained sales professionals and stylists, most of whom have been with us for years,” Lovitz says. “In addition, we have a driver at the ready to personally pick up an item you desire from one of our other stores – all within the same day.”

These most desirable items of which Lovitz speaks are anything from sparkly tops and jazzy dresses, to snazzy slacks, faux fur-trimmed capes, sequined sweaters and rhinestone-studded shoes, sandals and handbags. Despite the obvious slant toward embellishments, Lovitz assures that his customer can easily go from day to evening with practically anything from the store.

Lovitz says most of the brands carried at Talk are domestic with a few from Canada (such as Joseph Ribkoff, one of Talk’s best-selling lines).  Talk of the Walk even has its own private label.

Insiders’ Tips: Because Talk prides itself on having great, affordable prices all the time, there is never one big blowout sale during the year.  However, there is always a terrific sales rack in-store, so be sure to ask for it when you visit. Talk also has a customer rewards program. While it varies by location, it’s definitely worth looking into at the Talk nearest you.
