Been a long time that it’s rock ‘n’ rolled
Hard Rock has become a global brand in the past 40 years, with about 180 restaurants, hotels and casinos in 55 countries, all of them serving as showcases of rock ‘n’ roll history. The massive corporation recently decided against opening another casino in Atlantic City, but its Hard Rock Cafe location at Trump Taj Mahal Hotel and Casino has been open since 1996 and remains a casual spot for food, drinks, cool scenery and occasional live music year-round.
Your ears get some satisfaction
On a typical day or night, the Hard Rock’s soundtrack is supplied by a steady stream of classic and modern rock music and their accompanying music videos displayed on TVs around the room. On certain nights, though, it serves as its own concert hall, usually bringing in bands to play for a good cause, such as the Gilda Rocks On event to benefit the Gilda’s Club South Jersey featuring Steven Van Zandt and Jerry Blavat, and the Rock for Recovery show to support Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
They’ve been experienced
Every Hard Rock location is like a music museum, and this one is similarly filled with authentic memorabilia from a wide variety of legendary artists, including The Beatles; Crosby, Stills and Nash; Grateful Dead; The Rolling Stones; U2; Metallica; Red Hot Chili Peppers; The Pretenders; White Zombie and many more. Don’t be shy about getting up and looking at all the guitars, outfits, concert posters and other artifacts all over.
You wish you were here
Atlantic City’s Hard Rock is right on the Boardwalk, with a great view of the beach and Steel Pier all year. From mid-May to mid-September, they also set up a patio on the boards to eat and drink outdoors.
You look wonderful tonight in their stuff
Like all savvy corporations, the Hard Rock “conveniently” locates its gift shop at the entrance of the restaurant so you can pick up all the clothing and collectibles you desire. The shot glasses seem a little more rock ‘n’ roll than the aromatic reed diffusers, but, hey, everyone rocks their own way.
