    Driving has become more dangerous, and the primary reason is that accidents, injuries and fatalities have been on the rise due to distracted driving. Whether it’s using a smartphone, eating, fiddling with GPS, entertainment systems, sound controls, managing children or pets, talking to passengers or problem solving, distracted driving is not only a hazard to the safe, responsible operation of a vehicle but a threat to life. And it’s preventable!

    A limited boil water advisory has been issued for 21 customers connected to temporary water service on Florida Avenue between Arctic and Fairmount avenues due to the system having not been tested prior to installation, the city's Municipal Utilities Authority said Monday. 

    Ocean City had closed the Seaspray condominiums a year ago but allowed the building to reopen for the summer on the basis of an engineering report that indicated it was safe for occupancy. The red tags went back up this spring after someone's leg pushed through the steel landing of the outside stairs of the building, prompting a new look at the structure.

    Plans for drainage and flood control work along the west side of the borough are on the agenda for a Board of Commissioners meeting set for 5 p.m. Wednesday at Borough Hall, 6191 Pacific Ave.
