Party while getting in the holiday spirit and helping a good cause on Saturday, Dec. 1, as the annual Running of the Santas returns to the Tropicana’s Quarter. Dress up like Santa, Mrs. Claus and elf or something to fit the event, which will be held 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross for recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy.
The traditional run begins at 10 p.m. down the Boardwalk to The Quarter, but the “running” bar crawl registration goes from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hooters in The Marketplace, where JoJo and Scotty from WMGM 103.7-FM The Shark will host a pre-running bash with $3 Pabst Blue Ribbon pounders. Plus, order 10 wings, and $1 will be donated to the Red Cross, too.
The party will continue from 9 to 10 p.m. at Firewaters with $5 40-ounce bottles of PBR and Miller High Life before the run, which will be led by Hooters girls, Boogie Nights characters and Savage Men Male Revue dancers.
From 10 p.m. to midnight, head to A Dam Good Sports Bar for $5 40-ounce PBRs and Miller High Life, plus a Sexy Santa contest will be held at 11:30 p.m., with the sexiest taking home a $250 Visa or AMEX gift card.
The afterparty will be held at Boogie Nights, which will be holding its Jingle Ball, and the first 100 Santas through the door receive a free white afro, plus everyone can enjoy $5 Bud, Bud Light and Bud Light Lime beer. Admission is free to all registered Santas with a wristband.
The Running of the Santas costs $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the run. Go to www.runningofthesantas.com to get tickets. Plus, receive a 20-percent room discount at the Trop. Don’t have a Santa outfit? Grab a pink or red Santa hat for 20 bucks at Signatures inside The Quarter.
