One of the city’s best buffets is closing after June 17. Caesars Entertainment officials confirmed The Virginia City Buffet at Bally’s Wild Wild West Casino will shut its doors permanently. Take a walk through the Wild Wild West and it looks more like a ghost town than the wild West. Bally’s officials say they are in the process of securing outside vendors to lease space and offer dining and other amenities in the casino.
Caesars’ buffet, La Piazza, will expand offerings and hours, and some of the Virginia City employees were reassigned within Bally’s or other Caesars’ properties. It was not divulged if any employees lost their jobs.
Currently, the large slot area of Wild West remains open, as does the popular Mountain Bar and adjoining Wild Wings snack bar. All of the table games inside Wild West are shut down, and so is the former Main Stage, which hosted live bands and mechanical bull riding.
