Almost anyone will tell you one of the best things about fall, aside from all the glorious colorful changes in nature, is that it’s boot season.

From being fully functional (they keep your toes toasty in the cold) to supremely stylish (they can make or break an outfit), boots are fall’s fabulous footwear of choice.

And while it’s never easy for us shore folk to say bye-bye to flip-flops, let's look on the bright side — this season is offering some seriously chic boots.

As far as trends go this fall, boot styles run the gamut, from tall flats to high-heeled shorties and everything in between. And, fortunately, there’s a place in our wardrobe for all.

WESTERN: When it comes to footwear, there’s nothing more American than cowboy boots. So kick up your heels in style and don’t be afraid to try color, as this season’s Westerns come in a rainbow of shades.

Purchase at:

Carina (Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa)

  • At first glance, the faux-leather “Denver” boot by Volatile ($99) appears to look like your typical Western-style boot, with fancy stitching and studded embellishments. But their bright and fun colors including purple, aqua and rose, make them much more appropriate for a shore resort than a ranch.

Marshall Rousso (The Pier Shops at Caesars)

  • You’ll feel like an outlaw in these “Ride ‘Em” cowboy boots because they are such a steal at $65.00.  Made of vegan leather, these also come in multiple colors including Red, Blue and Ivory.

Talk of the Walk (The Quarter at Tropicana and The Pier Shops at Caesars)

  • Talk of the Walk takes things a step further with their glitzy Red Sequined cowboy boots (also in purple, black and silver) by John Fashion. These cowpokes are $119.00.

BOOTIES: Ankle booties are back with a vengeance. Either in flat form or in heels, they are super sexy and can truly enhance an outfit, since many of today’s styles have glam embellishments such as studs or rhinestones.

Purchase at:

Emporium (Revel)

  • The Volkova super sexy wedge booties with a dangerously thin heel by Pour la Victoire make the most of many trends. They come in rich colors and textures such as green or purple suede ($330) or brown-all-over snake ($365). The green and purple also have a dramatic python detail for extra va-va-voom.
  • The John Lennon bootie by Joie ($290) incorporates the Western trend. It’s hip without trying too hard.
  • Vince Camuto’s “Waltz” bootie ($249) is a studded stunner that also has zipper and buckle embellishments that toughen this uptown look.

Talk of the Walk (The Quarter at Tropicana and The Pier Shops at Caesars)

  • Channel your inner Sporty Spice Girl with the white sneaker-like bootie by Penny Sue ($79). An updated old-school look – complete with Velcro straps - is fresh for the ensuing cold weather.
  • The laser-cut booties by Lola Sabbia ($159) are the ultimate example of casual cool. Available in tan, black and gray.

OVER-THE-KNEE: The exact opposite of the bootie. Tall, sleek and commanding, it’s an instant look-changer and the epitome of modern feminine power dressing.

Purchase at:

Talk of the Walk (The Quarter at Tropicana and The Pier Shops at Caesars)

  • Their flat over-the-knee boot with a flirty bow by Eric Michael ($198) is available in tan or brown. It’s also two boots in one, as they can be folded down for a shorter, different look.

Emporium (Revel)

  • Another cool, flat over-the-knee boot is the Bollo by Vince Camuto ($249). The stitching up the back and the buckle up top make for terrific detailing.

MEN: Men, too, have many boot options for fall. Finishes such as laces, straps and zippers are popular this season. Smooth leather is the favorite material and the most common colors are black, brown and blue grey.

Purchase at:

Hugo Boss (Revel)

  • Men will be stylin’ in two sharp styles – the leather lace-up Russon in black or dark brown ($525) for an off-duty look and the Henkor ankle boot with a buckled strap in black or medium brown ($245) for a more sophisticated look.

The Big Deal

Hugo Boss at Revel is having a Sunday football special. Take a break at halftime to visit Hugo Boss in The Row and get 20 percent off your entire purchase on Sundays throughout football season. This deal is not valid in conjunction with any other sales, offers or promotions.
