This ultralounge earns its ego
Situated beside the casino floor at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort is the Ego Bar and Lounge, which features an upscale 24-hour bar and a stage that showcases top-notch DJs and arguably the city’s best lounge act, Almost Angels, every weekend. When it opened in 2006, the casino boasted that it was the island’s premier lounge scene, and it’s still among the best today.

You’ll be singing the Angels praises
Pride may be the most serious of the seven deadly sins, but Ego has no problem bragging about Almost Angels, the eight-member performance group that makes the lounge a destination more than a stopover. Covering both modern and classic hits, the six scintillating women show off choreographed moves and harmonizing vocals, while the group’s two talented male musicians both back it up with instrumentation as well as take the lead on some songs. They’re a must-see every Friday and Saturday and often Thursday nights, as well.

Tuesdays take you back in time
Every Tuesday night is ’80s for the Ladies with DJ, host and radio personality Michael James of 100.7 WZXL. Come because it’s a Tuesday night and there’s no cover, stay to sing along with all the Madonna, Whitney Houston and Salt-N-Pepa you can handle.

Indulge your ID all the time
Even when there isn’t live entertainment scheduled, Ego is still open all day, every day, to satisfy your passions, whether it’s just to get a social drink, play some bar-top slot machines, try your hand at one of the blackjack tables or watch their dozen plasma TVs at their full bar.

The drink prices are nearly divine
When the Angels are off, the drink prices fall during happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. House cocktails fall to $5 and house wine or beer drops to $4 each. Stop by anytime to also check out the specialty menu of mixed drinks.
