Yan Kadomsky got his first gig in Atlantic City a couple years ago at the StarBar outside Casbah nightclub, and since then he’s found a niche playing outdoor terraces around the resort.
“When you talk about clubs, people always think of what’s going on inside,” says the 33-year-old of Philadelphia. “Believe me, there’s a lot going on outside.”
DJ Yan plays regular sets on the outside patios at Foundation Room and The Pool all summer long, and he recently added indoor clubs Anthem and Providence to his schedule, as well.
A native of Kiev, Ukraine, he plays mainly electronic music, varying between instrumental house and mainstream EDM, depending on the venue and event. That’s why Providence brought him in for its new late-night Pink House party last Friday night.
When it comes to playing outside, he said he’s been inspired by Space nightclub in Miami, a world-famous venue where the party goes all night, and then the roof retracts and it continues all day.
“I’ve always been a fan of what they do, and I tried to replicate that in Atlantic City,” he says.
