Atlantic City has plenty of open-format DJs, but not many have gone from playing strictly trance music to modern hip-hop to classic disco.
“I can play any type of party, practically,” says Gabor Kiss, who has nearly done so over his almost two decades in the industry.
Kiss, of Hammonton, is the resident DJ at Boogie Nights in Tropicana Casino and Resort. He also was once a mainstay at The Pool After Dark and the since-demolished Delirium nightclub in Margate.
His range of styles is unusual, as is so much more about him.
For one, yes, that’s his real name. He is of Hungarian descent, a self-described vinyl junkie with thousands of records in his collection, and a computer geek whose full-time job is in IT.
At his current residency, he keeps it simple — only the best tracks from the ’70s and ’80s.
Except, of course, when it’s ’90s night.
“I can pretty much do it all,” he says. “Whatever it takes for the party.”
