It’s only a few simple steps
If you have ever walked to and from The Quarter in Tropicana Casino and Resort through the main gaming floor, there is a good chance you’ve turned your head to see a singer belting out a song to a crowded bar or watched a shameless DJ-fueled dance party at Tango’s Lounge. The suave venue is one of the city’s liveliest lounges since it is at a convenient location at the intersection of the casino’s gambling center and its popular shopping, dining and entertainment corridor, plus it is now next-door neighbors with the Boogie Nights nightclub, serving as a starting point or midway place to party.
Let the music take you over
The main draw at Tango’s is its entertainment since there is usually a decent band or DJ playing there Friday and Saturday nights, often with two bands on weekend days starting in the afternoon. A lot of the city’s best-known and most reliable lounge acts have played there and still do, typically performing classic songs and current party favorites. The music starts 7 p.m. Fridays and 3 p.m. Saturdays, continuing to nearly 3 a.m.
They dip their prices during the week
The bar has happy hour five days a week from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays to Mondays, with $2 draft beers, $4 wines and $5 well drinks. During the NFL season, there also is the added enticement of half-off draft beer during games.
They make some special moves
Tango’s is often the site of special events on its own or in conjunction with the rest of The Quarter. Recently, it has hosted costume parties and an album release event for a local pop group, while in the near future it will be serving up specialty beers and martinis for Tropicana’s Quarter-wide beer and martini promotions.
Really explore the dance floor
Citing customer demand, Tropicana expanded Tango’s in 2012, adding 1,000 square feet, 30 additional chairs, a new dance floor and a rearranged stage to welcome even more customers. The expansion coincided with the opening of the new Boogie Nights location, making it even more of a place to be. “The upgrade to Tango’s has been in huge demand by customers for quite some time,” Tropicana’s now-CEO Tony Rodio said at the time.
