Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band at Caesars
WHO ARE THEY: Although he’s best known as the drummer for The Beatles, Ringo Starr’s career as a solo artist has spanned three and a half decades. As a member of “the fab four,” Ringo’s singing generally took a backseat to that of John Lennon, Paul McCartney and even George Harrison, but he was featured on such notable Beatles tracks as “Yellow Submarine,” “With a Little Help From My Friends” and “Octopus’s Garden.” Following the band’s breakup in 1970, Starr scored top 10 hits with “It Don’t Come Easy,” “Back off Boogaloo,” “Photograph,” “You’re Sixteen” and “Oh My My.”
WHAT TO EXPECT: Ringo began touring with his “All-Starr Band,” comprised of notable musicians in 1989, and they are now in their 13th incarnation. The current lineup includes Steve Lukather, Gregg Rolie, Richard Page, Todd Rundgren, Mark Rivera and Gregg Bissonette. Ringo may not have been the most talented Beatle, but the man definitely knows how to put on a show. Fans can expect to hear songs such as “It Don’t Come Easy,” “Photograph,” “With a Little Help From My Friends,” “Yellow Submarine” and “Wings.”
WHAT’S NEW: Starr’s latest album “Ringo 2012” was released in January and features impressive musical contributions from the likes of Joe Walsh, Benmont Tench, Dave Stewart, Van Dyke Parks and Edgar Winter, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Don Was.
