WHO IS HE: Gianni Morandi is an Italian pop singer who became popular in the early 1960s by winning several Italian song festivals including Canzonissima and the Eurovision Song Contest. Morandi’s hits include “In ginocchio d ate,” “Non son degno di te” and “Scende la pioggia.” The singer’s career started to slip in the 1970s, but he made a strong comeback in the ’80s, winning Festival of Sanremo in 1987. In addition to singing, Morandi has also appeared in many films and starred in the television series “Voglia di volare.”

WHAT TO EXPECT: Morandi may be 68 years old, but you’d never know it to look at the man and see him perform. The Italian pop singer has been belting out tunes in front of large audiences since the early 1960s, and he’s still going strong. Concertgoers at the Taj can expect to hear favorites like “Scende la pioggia,” “Non son degno di te” and “In ginoccio d ate.” Fans won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to see the Italian legend perfom in Atlantic City.

WHAT’S NEW: Morandi was a presenter at the 2012 Sanremo Music Festival.

SHOW INFO: Tickets are $100, $125 and $200, and the show begins 9 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort’s Mark G Etess Arena.
