KOOL 98.3-FM recently launched a search to find a local high school choir to perform live on stage with classic rock legends Foreigner when they perform to a sold-out crowd at the Golden Nugget on June 15.
The choir will perform the No. 1 hit “I Want to Know What Love Is” with the band, which originally recorded the song with the New Jersey Mass Choir.
High school choirs throughout South Jersey can submit a video of a performance 5 minutes or less in duration at KOOL983.com.
The choir can choose whatever song it wants for the audition. Then the public will vote for their favorite performance on the same website.
The winning choir will be announced June 7 on the station’s “Morning Wake-Up with Dave & Tina” and also win $500 from Foreigner.
“We were very excited when Foreigner reached out to us to see if we could partner with them on this talent search,” explains Paul Kelly, vice president of broadcast operations for Longport Media. “It’s great to have a group of music legends who are genuinely nice guys, willing to go the extra mile to offer local students the once in a lifetime opportunity to perform on stage with them.”
The station will also host an exclusive giveaway for a listener to receive a pair of VIP tickets including back-stage passes and a meet and greet with the band.
