Pound for Pound at Bally’s

WHAT TO EXPECT: The Main Event of Saturday’s “Pound For Pound” boxing event at Bally’s Atlantic City is a 10-round super featherweight bout between undefeated Joel Diaz Jr. and Guillermo Sanchez. The 20-year-old Diaz has a 10-0 record with nine knockouts, including impressive wins over Guy Robb and Emanuel Lucero. Meanwhile, Sanchez boasts a record of 13-5-1 with six KOs. The 24-year-old fighter has beaten previously undefeated fighters such as Harvey Murray, Eddie Irizarry, Miguel Rodriguez and Rod Salka. The undercard features top junior middleweight prospect Glen “Jersey Boy” Tapia (14-0, 8 KOs) against an opponent to be named later. Millville’s own Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna (8-0, 5 KOs) will fight Yolexcy Leiva (5-3, 4 KOs) in a middleweight bout scheduled for six rounds.
