We all know that living at the beach is pretty sweet in a figurative sense.  But literally too?  The short answer is yes.  Because Atlantic City is filled with a plethora of tantalizingly sweet and tasty treats from the boardwalk to the outlets and everywhere in between.

IT’SUGAR at The Pier Shops at Caesars

It’Sugar, Atlantic City’s favorite candy emporium, had a makeover! Gone is Lucy the Elephant (don’t worry, you can still see the original in Margate), making more room for patrons, strollers and lots and lots of candy. The new look is ultra colorful, bright and super cheery. There is no way anyone can be in a sour mood in this sweet shop. Be sure to check out sugary goods from childhood – in oversized format - including candied dots the size of a quarter, gummy bears the size of a teddy and so much more.

GODIVA at The Quarter at Tropicana

Belgian chocolatier Godiva has a few new tricks and treats up its proverbial sleeve. They’ve just launched their new Mousse Collection.  Experience the complex flavors of ganache fillings, which are made of rich chocolate, fruit or nut and perfectly paired in a dense shell of milk or dark chocolate. Mousse chocolates come in five oh-so-luscious flavors, including strawberry, passion fruit and hazelnut.

If all the shopping at The Quarter has made you thirsty, pop into Godiva for a cool, refreshing shake in either mint chocolate chip or strawberry.

Insiders’ Tip: On April 21, purchase a 19-piece gift box for $50 and receive a FREE “FEED 10” bag ($30 Value), proceeds of which help feed the hungry around the world.

MRS. FIELDS COOKIES at The Quarter at Tropicana

Who doesn’t love freshly baked cookies? And they’re even better when they’re on sale! All this month, Mrs. Fields in The Quarter is having a sale on their cookies with edible images (those are when your precious photos are embedded on the yummy treat). Usually, there’s a $5 charge for an edible image on a 16" round, half-sheet or full-sheet cookie cakes. But this month, Mrs. Fields will do the images for FREE! Images can be taken from photographs, cameras or computers. Cookie cakes are a great alternative to regular cakes and a fun way to help personalize any special occasion.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is perhaps best known for its amazing selection of old fashioned caramel apples – all of which are made from scratch. They all start with a crisp, green Granny Smith apple smothered with thick and chewy hand-made caramel, then dipped in a variety of yummy toppings for a just-right combination of tart and sweet. The most popular flavors are Apple Pie (a delicious combination of brown sugar and cinnamon with white ribbon – this is a real “wow” item) and Snickers (caramel-dipped in a delectable peanut butter blend).

Insiders’ Tip: Caramel apples are always Buy 3, Get 1 Free. However, if you procure a Tanger coupon book at Shopper Services, you’ll find a coupon for Buy 3, Get 2 Free!

Additional yumminess at Rocky Mountain is their award-winning fudge and caramel Oreos.

Zeytinia, of course, has an incredible selection of gourmet hand-crafted artisan breads, focaccia, sourdough, crusty baguettes, muffins, coffee, cheeses and more. But, they also carry chocolates from around the world – we’re talking chocolates you won’t find anywhere else in the country. They also have a huge array of pastries, cakes and Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes. And now that the temps are getting hotter, you’ll want to cool off with their Italian gelato. This place is perfect if you need a midnight snack – they’re open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

JAMES’ CANDY at The Quarter at Tropicana

Look to James for a fabulously colorful and delightful Spring candy. Oh, heck. Who are we kidding? It’s great any time of the year! They take their enormously famous Salt Water Taffy and coat it with rich creamy chocolate. While the candy makers at James’ are unsure of the origin of this particular luscious confection, they’ve since patented the process.  The final product is individually sealed in bright colorful foil to ensure freshness. This treat comes in nine mouth-watering flavors including banana, coconut, peppermint and raspberry.

Spring is blossoming like wild flowers at The Pier Shops at Caesars. By the end of this season, look for awesome new shops opening up – and old favorites re-opening - at this shopping mecca, including:

  • Shoe Be Do will re-open for the season May 10 on the Second Level. Shoe Be Do is a popular shoe retailer that offers fashion-forward shoes and accessories for women. Fun fact: this cute store originated in The French Quarter in New Orleans.
  • Health Kingdom will open late Spring and provide shoppers with some soothing and comforting relief.
